The My Biggest Fan Foundation is very excited to announce that they have partnered with the Community Foundation of PEI (CFPEI) to start an investment fund with a goal of reaching $25,000 for an Endowment. When they reach their goal, an ongoing $1,000 Scholarship will be provided every year to a deserving student to attend school and pursue their dream of playing hockey.
Juliana MacEwen, President of the Foundation commented, “This endowment will allow Craig’s legacy to live on forever and we are so honoured and proud of continuing his legacy for generations to come and supporting a hockey player in pursuing their dream."
CPFEI is an incorporated, non-profit organization that provides a ‘user-friendly’ vehicle for donors to create endowment funds to support charitable activities. Income generated from these investments is directed through grants and scholarships to support a wide range of diverse needs in Prince Edward Island communities. Because of the permanent nature of these endowments, income is available for now and generations to come.
To kick off the Endowment Fund, Kurtis MacEwen and Jeff Affleck of MBFF are presenting a cheque for $10,000 from funds raised at the first Annual Craig MacEwen Classic Golf Tournament to Kent Hudson, Executive Director of CFPEI. With this cheque and other generous memorial donations that have been received thus far, MBFF is a little over halfway to reaching their $25,000 goal.
If you would like to donate to the endowment fund in support of The My Biggest Fan Foundation, you can contact CFPEI directly at www.cfpei.ca or click DONATE above. CFPEI will be happy to provide you with a tax receipt for your donation towards the endowment.
